Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure the butter is softened for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Optional Ingredients
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Optional. Can be replaced with nuts or dried fruits.
  • Sprinkles or icing For decoration.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden.
  2. Let cool and decorate as desired.
